afThe Biltmore 14' wide free-standing greenhouse kit has room to grow and then some! With ten standard sizes ranging from 14' long to 50' long, this Turner greenhouse is being used by hobbyists, educators and commercial growers alike. Every Turner Greenhouse kit is easy and inexpensive to construct.

adsfThe framework of each Turner Greenhouse kit is made of rugged, and rust resistant Galvalume metal. This coating process is more than twice as resistant to corrosion as conventional galvanizing, making it exceptionally strong, long-lasting and maintenance free. All Turner Greenhouse structures come with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty against defects and workmanship.

asfIn the Biltmore there is ample room to house two 2'-3' wide side benches on each wall plus a bench or potting table in the center. And there's still ample walkway on each side.

adfIn addition to adding extra workspace at no extra cost, the Dutch Design gives you a stronger greenhouse that is more resistant to wind damage, while allowing 26% more sunlight to penetrate because less light is reflected.

adsfWe give you two choices in covering material: A heavy duty fiberglass or the more economical polyethylene cover. Our fiberglass is UV coated and especially manufactured for greenhouses and comes with a 10 year limited manufacture's warranty. The 6mm polyethylene, (a heavy duty plastic sheeting), we use is especially manufactured for greenhouses. We recommend replacing polyethylene after two to three growing seasons under normal conditions.

dfgYou will need to construct your own base out of 4x4 treated wood (most popular), masonry or concrete. We do offer a raised base kit if you so choose to construct a raised foundation. This kit includes door jam extension parts cut at 24" in length. Use heavy-duty snips to trim to your desired length.

gfWe strongly recommend the Internal Roof Support Kit for all Biltmore models. The internal roof support kit provides 4 times more strength to the Biltmore greenhouse.

Mr. Jerry Rogers in Wakefield, VA has a Biltmore 26' poly greenhouse with a double poly insulation kit and shade cover. He also has a propane heater. He sent us an email with the above picture and the email below.
-You can see in the attached photo that I built mine on a kneewall.
Did all the block work myself. :-) I said at that time, "no more laying blocks", as it is a lot of work. But it does make for a nice appearance and works great for the orchids I grow in my house. Last weekend the orchid society I belong to and visited a hobbyist that is still using his Turner from the early 60's.

The Automatic Fan Ventilation System:
Good ventilation is important to your greenhouse in order to control humidity, reduce the threat of disease and to eliminate stale, used air while providing fresh air. Plants, like humans, cannot thrive and grow without the life-supporting elements found in fresh air.While there are numerous types of ventilation system options, we have selected a forced air system that provides a fresh air change every 60 to 90 seconds.

A standard ventilation system includes:
Shutter-mounted exhaust fan with safety guard.
Heavy-duty, degree calibrated thermostat.
A luminum inlet shutter for incoming fresh air.
Shutter motor to power open/close the inlet shutter.
Special mounting bars and hardware to easily install in Turner units.

The exhaust fan is installed in one end wall and the motorized inlet shutter is mounted in the other end. The thermostat is located near the center of the greenhouse, 3' to 5' off the floor. When the greenhouse temperature rises to the thermostat setting, both fan and inlet are activated and hot air is exhausted while fresh air is pulled into the greenhouse. This system also cools the greenhouse during fall and spring. It will not cool the greenhouse during hot summer weather.

The Internal Roof Support Kit is for greenhouse owners in areas that have lots of snow and /or high wind prone areas (including those pesky spring and summer thunderstorms), we recommend this kit which adds additional strength to the Biltmore Series.
How does the system work? After concrete piers are installed in the greenhouse floor, posts are attached to the piers with anchors. The posts are then connected to the purlins with braces and special brackets. We provide all the fittings, brackets and fasteners which are either stainless or galvanized steel. All the posts and purlins are precut and made of heavy-wall galvanized steel pipe. The posts are spaced at a maximum of 8' and the purlins run the full length of the greenhouse.In addition to adding great strength to the structure, the posts and purlins are ideal for hanging baskets and extra shelves.While a support kit is more easily installed when the structure is first erected, it can easily be added anytime.
*To help reduce the snowload, people who live in colder climates need a heat source inside the greenhouse. And if possible, sweeping off excess snow will help. Even though the internal roof support kit gives extra strength to the structure, do not leave a heavy snow load on your greenhouse for long periods of time.....
